IPL 2020 News: Full chaos in Chennai Super Kings’ camp.

Well, there’s lot of chaos currently in Chennai Super Kings camp right now. BCCI on Saturday; told that two out of 13 members that tested positive of CSK’s camp are players. One is T20 specialist pacer and other is India A’s top-order batsman. BCCI didn’t reveal their names.

“Upon landing in the UAE, all IPL participants have followed a mandatory testing and quarantine programme. Total of 1,988 RT-PCR COVID tests were carried out between August 20th – 28th. 13 personnel have tested positive of which two are players,” said BCCI.

“All the positive founded people have been isolated from rest of the team. The medical team are monitoring them,”added BCCI.

Suresh Raina pulls out of IPL; due to ‘personal reasons’.

The highest run scorer for CSK; Suresh Raina has pulled out of IPL; stating personal reasons; adding woes to CSK’s chaos.

The franchise tweeted on Saturday. “Suresh Raina has returned to India for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of the IPL season. Chennai Super Kings offers complete support to Suresh and his family during this time,” CSK CEO KS Viswanathan quoted.

“Raina’s absence will be a big blow for Chennai Super Kings. But in these times, if any player doesn’t feel 100% or he has some other problems; he can leave, any team respects that and CSK is no different,” a senior IPL official privy to development in CSK camp told Press Trust of India.

IPL 2020 Schedule: CSK will not play opening game.

Due to all the unfortunate events listed above; CSK will not be able to play the opening match of IPL 2020. CSK was scheduled to play Mumbai Indians in the opening game of IPL 2020 according to the earlier released schedule by BCCI.  

CSK which is now under consummate quarantine for the next 6 days can’t resume practice till all of the players test negative after completion of the quarantine period. This designates even if all goes well, CSK can resume practice only by the middle of the next week.

BCCI has confirmed that it will give more time to Chennai to recover from this setback.
